This is the third expansion in the Sun & Moon series. Look forward to Generation VII Pokémon and powerful Pokémon-GX cards!

One of the main Pokémon representing this expansion is Prism Pokémon Necrozma, a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VII.

The set focuses primarily on Fire-type and Dark-type Pokémon, with Charizard and Necrozma standing out as the main attractions. Another key highlight is the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow. All three received Rainbow Rare versions and rank among the most valuable cards in the set.

Burning Shadows continues the Pokémon-GX mechanic, first introduced in the base Sun & Moon set in early 2017, and pushes the trend of including a large number of Full Art and Secret Rare cards—a trend that continues to this day.

Collectors will also appreciate the Full Art Trainer cards. In this set, Acerola, Kiawe, Wicke, and Guzma are considered some of the best Full Art Trainers ever released. Other powerful and desirable cards include Darkrai, Gardevoir, and of course the iconic Rainbow Rare Charizard.

However, in the shadow of Rainbow Charizard, it’s easy to overlook the beauty of the common cards. Ralts and Pikachu feature memorable, emotional artwork, while Butterfree and Charmander capture two of the most iconic moments from the anime—bringing illustrations that evoke both nostalgia and strong emotions for longtime fans.
