Who Is This Game For?
Fromage is designed for 1–4 players aged 14 and up, offering a rich yet approachable eurogame experience. A single game lasts 30–45 minutes.
It plays smoothly with two players, emphasizing careful planning, while three or four players bring increased competition and strategic tension.
The rules are easy to grasp, but the game rewards experienced players who enjoy optimization and long-term strategy.
How the Game Works
Players take on the role of French cheesemakers, managing milk, livestock, buildings, and time. You may sell cheese quickly for immediate benefits or allow it to age for greater rewards—at the cost of time and flexibility.
The core mechanics combine worker placement with a rotating action board that changes after each round, representing the passage of seasons. Workers remain locked while cheese matures, creating meaningful timing decisions and resource tension.
By fulfilling orders, attending festivals, and trading across regions, players expand their operations and earn prestige points. Victory goes to the player who best balances production, timing, and strategic planning.
