Exploding Kittens is a highly strategic, cat-powered version of Russian roulette. Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten—at which point they explode, lose, and are out of the game, unless they have a Defuse card (with tactics like laser pointers, belly rubs, or catnip sandwiches). The other cards in the deck let you manipulate the draw pile, avoid danger, or set traps for opponents.
The NSFW Edition takes the original game and gives it a mature twist: it contains the full core game but with completely new artwork that’s deliberately raunchy, provocative, and hilarious, making it unsuitable for kids but perfect for an adult game night.
Combine this deck with another Exploding Kittens set (Classic or NSFW) to increase the player count up to 9.
Originally created in 2015 by Elan Lee, Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), and Shane Small, Exploding Kittens became the most-backed project in Kickstarter history, with over 219,000 supporters. By 2023, over 25 million copies had been sold worldwide.
